Micky has 15 years experience as a Carpenter, gaining his training while serving in the army and air force for the New Zealand Defence Force. Building on the job in less developed countries throughout the world has driven Mickys desire to bring high quality, yet environmentally sustainable passive housing here.
Micky has been a licensed Building Practitioner since 2009, perfecting his craft while project managing and leading teams in multiple projects throughout the New Zealand and the Pacific such as school rebuild projects in the Solomon Islands, Health Centres in Kiribati, building upgrades in East Timor as well as residential and commercial projects throughout NZ. His drive, quality workmanship and commitment to the job evident in every build.
DB&R have chosen to align themselves with eHaus as they truly believe they are the world leaders in redefining the way we live. eHaus encompasses Micky and Tash’s objectives to change and refine the current building scene, hence becoming the eHaus Marlborough license holders. This hardworking team are enthusiastic about bringing their vision of contemporary and environmentally conscious builds to the local landscape.
The pair believe so much in this way of building that they are currently constructing an eHaus for Micky’s parents just out of Blenheim. If you are interested in achieving a more healthy, sustainable and stylish way of life, we encourage you to come down and see it for yourself.
We are invigorated and excited about the direction eHaus is taking and the effect it will have on the future of the New Zealand building industry. We are dedicated to providing a quality, stress-free service, taking the utmost care to work with and meet your needs at every step of the build.
This thoughtfully designed eHaus is Marlborough’s first certified Passive House.
Built to perform, the home features 190mm thick walls, triple-glazed windows, and exceptional airtightness, delivering year-round comfort and remarkably low energy use.
Inside, the spacious layout includes three bedrooms, with a generous master suite complete with walk-in robe and ensuite. An open-plan kitchen and living area connects to a separate media room and office, offering both space to entertain and quiet corners to retreat. A covered deck extends the living outdoors which is ideal for Marlborough’s long summers.
Designed and built for a couple downsizing from a draughty 1920s bungalow, this home will provide a far more comfortable retirement than their previous home.
