This eHaus fits snugly on its rural Waikato site. The north-facing, open plan living area has many picture windows and indoor-outdoor flow to large timber decks, designed to enjoy the views overlooking the Waipa River. The owners can also retreat to a central media room away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the house, or to their Master suite, cleverly separated at one end of the home, away from the other two bedrooms. The light and airy interior spaces feature timber right throughout the house, mainly through the use of beautiful European Spruce timber window frames, nicely contrasting with other black and white fixtures and fittings in the kitchen and bathrooms. The natural finishes of Abodo timber and dark brick on the exterior cladding mean that this home blends into its hillside location, an important factor to its ecologically minded owners.
Every one of our projects are energy modelled using the Passive House Planning Package (PHPP). It's through this powerfully clever tool that we can accurately calculate just how much heat energy every eHaus will save when compared to a similarly- sized typical new home, built in the same climate region.
We believe that our homes should have a big impact on the way we live, but little impact on the land. We've calculated the amount of carbon our homes have saved through energy efficiency from move in day 'til now. At their core, eHaus' are built with the elimination of carbon emissions in mind - so we're not only creating healthy, comfy & high performing homes, but spaces that don't cost the earth.
