Established in 2010, eHaus was created by Jon Iliffe and Baden and Glenda Brown. From the beginning, the trio set out to do things differently.
They wanted to create a New Zealand-owned and operated design and construction company that focused on building better, using the proven principles of Passive House.
Jon and Baden were both drawn to environmental and performance values of Passive House. Jon, a Mechanical Production Engineer with Rolls Royce Motors, arrived in New Zealand with plans to build a home for his family. Dissatisfied with the status quo, he set about exploring better building options.
Meanwhile, master builder Baden Brown had spent over two decades crafting luxury homes, only to feel disillusioned by their lack of true performance. Jon and Baden discovered the Passive House approach. The building philosophy aligned perfectly with Jon's engineering mindset and environmental values and Baden’s performance-driven approach.
Together with Glenda, they founded eHaus. To this day, the company remains driven by its original values, high standards, and a desire to build homes that truly work for New Zealanders and the environment.
