Hello and welcome to the Spring edition of our eHaus newsletter. It's a welcome sight to see the blossoms on the trees and a warmer wind with longer days.
In this edition we are looking at our eHaus Pacific developed by eHaus for New Zealand - the most affordable option using proven Passive House building science. Open construction days begin nation wide. See an eHaus under construction in your region. It's all go in Dunedin with the Passive House co-housing project about to commence. eHaus is proud to have a key role in this incredible project. Waikato expoHaus tour and information seminars on offer in October.
The team at eHaus
Developed by eHaus for New Zealand, the eHaus Pacific is the most affordable option available using proven Passive House building science. Modelled using PHPP (Passive House Planning Package), this measured performance happens before the build even starts giving you peace of mind you can live by.
Mechanical Heat Recovery Ventilation System - smart and quiet, working hard so you can breathe easy. 98% of pollutants are removed from the air along with maintaining the temperature of the home all year round.
Air Tightness - creating a beautifully quiet space, stopping draughts and air leaks - 2 air changes per hour n50 (code 5-10p/h).
Thermally efficient double glazed Low E & Argon gas windows - no mould or draughts, also virtually eliminating condensation.
Significantly less heating energy required - savings of over 50% on energy costs (compared to code). Maximum heating demand s50Kwh/m2/a.
High levels of insulation which match your regional climate.
The eHaus Pacific although technically not a certifiable PassivHaus, is eHaus validated to verify proven certified performance, architecturally designed with you and built by a qualified eHaus builder.
The eHaus Pacific is the new way forward for all New Zealand builds.

At eHaus we have builds happening all throughout the country and we want to give you the chance to journey with us on a build near you. So we are introducing open construction days at key stages of builds.
Experiencing an eHaus is what sets it apart from a standard code built house. To see the construction, talk to the eHaus builder and the homeowner is exciting.
To kick things off our first Open construction day will be
Wednesday 24th October in Bay of Plenty/Tauranga
123 Leyland Road, Whakamarama Tauranga
4 - 7.00pm
Currently on schedule to be air tight by this date, with the high performance windows installed and ready for interior wall lining. The day provides an unique opportunity to see all the key PassivHaus features before being covered.
Enjoy meeting our eHaus BOP/Tauranga builders Paul Sadlier and Ross Brown and the home owners, to talk first hand about building the PassivHaus way.
Follow the eHaus Bay of Plenty Facebook to keep track of the Leyland Road progress, or keep an eye out via the eHaus Facebook page or the eHaus website for an open construction day near you.
We are excited to finally confirm that the Dunedin CoHousing Project is underway with a building contract signed last week. This has taken 5 years for the designer (Architype Ltd) in conjunction with eHaus, to get the project to this stage. eHaus is responsible for the thermal modelling and the construction. This is the 2nd CoHousing Project that NZ has ever seen – and we believe it will be a benchmark for the future.
Fine-dining and yoga retreat chef Damian Oehlrich has opened a new vegan-friendly cafe in Whanganui.
Previously the Petre dish, built by eHaus in 2013, this certified commercial building was a first for the city. It is great to see this new business in town!
The Greenhouse Aotearoa is now open six days a week, welcoming customers into the cafe during the day and moonlighting in the evening as a space for classes and events.
