PHINZ makes the final cut in the Passive House Award 2014

In  by eHausMar 31, 2014

It was exciting to receive the announcement that the first certified Passive House in New Zealand (PHINZ)  has made the final selection in the Passive House Award 2014. The winners in a total of six categories will be announced on the 25th April at the international Passive House Conference which is held in Aachen Germany. PHINZ is entered into the Single Family Home category and sits with entries from Belgium, Finland, USA and  two from Germany  This was our second project using the PHPP software which determines exactly how the house will perform before it is built. It was a great opportunity to work with the European Certifier and all those involved in New Zealand. Since this project we have developed our own design and building systems to deliver the best performance with the simplest execution. There will be a good representation from New Zealand at the International Conference in Aachan with Dr Paola Leardini from the University of Auckland and Kara Rosemeier who heads up Passive House Academy New Zealand (PHANZ), both having opportunities to present at the conference. We wish them well as we do PHINZ!
