Set in the rolling hills of the Waikato this beautiful off the grid family home ticks all of the boxes. After significant research and gaining confidence from a friend that had built an off the grid eHaus in Manawatu, the owners made the decision to go for it and engaged the eHaus Waikato team. The clever design of the system means the owner is able to continue with his hobbies which incredibly includes welding which the system copes without any issues. These owners are living the dream in this amazing high performing home generating its own power.
"We had an enormous amount of sunshine over the summer. When it was 30 degrees Celsius outside we would leave the heat pump going all day on auto – it didn’t cost us a cent, and the house was as cool as a cucumber. After we have been staying with my son in Tauranga, we can feel the difference walking into this house. This is definitely better than a standard house."
Every one of our projects are energy modelled using the Passive House Planning Package (PHPP). It's through this powerfully clever tool that we can accurately calculate just how much heat energy every eHaus will save when compared to a similarly- sized typical new home, built in the same climate region.
We believe that our homes should have a big impact on the way we live, but little impact on the land. We've calculated the amount of carbon our homes have saved through energy efficiency from move in day 'til now. At their core, eHaus' are built with the elimination of carbon emissions in mind - so we're not only creating healthy, comfy & high performing homes, but spaces that don't cost the earth.
