At 90sqm, Series 2.2 is an architecturally designed two-bedroom home ideal for couples or small families seeking a sustainable and efficient lifestyle. Crafted with high-performing materials including SIP panels and a Mechanical Heat Recovery Ventilation (MHRV) system, and with an emphasis on energy efficiency, this home is designed to operate with 85%* less heating energy than a standard build.

Inside, an open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area maximise space, while clever storage solutions — including built-in wardrobes, entry shelving, and a convenient cupboard laundry — keep everything organised. Sloped ceilings throughout provide a sense of space, and the high-performance uPVC windows ensure the interior stays warm, quiet, and naturally lit.

With vertical aluminium and timber accent cladding, the clean lines create a modern aesthetic that suits both urban settings and natural surroundings.

This pre-designed plan shortens the time needed to get started on your home, and guarantees energy efficiency without compromising on aesthetics.

Series 2.2 is a small home with a big impact – for you and the environment.

How does this plan perform?

This plan operates using 85% less heating energy than if this same plan was built to the NZ Building Code, and here's why. The People's House Collection has been designed and modelled to meet our eHaus Pacific performance standard. Creating a thermal envelope by ensuring there's a continuous layer of insulation that wraps around the building and using high performance joinery, this home is designed to maintain a constant minimum temperature of 20°C all year round. Some active heating or cooling will be required at certain times of the year.

*Heating energy savings based on PHPP model, using climate data for the Whanganui region.

Sustainability approach

Sustainability is woven into the very fabric of every People's House Plan that we build. By utilising clever building science and sustainable construction materials, our homes are making a positive impact on the planet-and it doesn’t stop there. We have partnered with other forward thinking, like-minded suppliers. We have plastic free carpets, water saving taps, low VOC paint and LED lighting, just to name a few. This home is packed with so much goodness for you and the planet, without compromising on good looks and style.

Living lighter on the planet

Because of the way this plan is designed and constructed, we know and can measure the amount of carbon through energy efficiency that this home can be expected to save each year, and we think that’s pretty cool.
